Hi!   I hope that you had an amazing holiday break, hopefully you ate some good food and got some good rest. I just wanted to update you on how my internship went in Guatemala. It was really really good. I got to see Jesus break so many chains and change so many lives. I learned alot about leadership and am continuously learning what it looks like to lead out of a place of rest and receiving the love of Jesus and from that position being able to share the love of Jesus with those around me. During my internship I spent most of my time investing in and leading a team of young women from the united states for two months.  We spent a lot of our time with a youth group in a small town named Jocotenango. The girls on the  team got to teach the lessons and lead worship every week for their youth service. It’s really awesome because the young Guatemalans got to see people their age preaching and living life with Jesus and realized “ wow, a relationship with Jesus isn’t just for my pastor, or for my parents but it’s personal and it is for me as well.” The Lord used the team to shift mindsets and bring perspective of who Jesus is and of His love.

I was encouraged by the revival that is happening in the hearts of the Gen Z women. Seeing walls be torn down in their hearts, stepping into more freedom with Jesus and seeing them diving into the word to feed themselves the daily bread, being open to receive feedback because they simply wanted to know more of the Father and look more like Jesus daily. I am encouraged knowing that a lot of them will finish their mission trip, return to the states and continue to live life proclaiming Jesus in their homes, schools, and workplaces. So good!!

I spent my free time getting to know the people of jocotenango because that’s actually where I lived. Oh boy was it sweet. I would play soccer at the community field, teach English, and talk to people in the park. It was really sweet to build relationships. I always found myself so encouraged by the contentment  that they all had in the midst of their physical lack. They have so much joy. It was pretty convicting at times. What came of these times in the community was beautiful relationships, some people I met were believers and just needed encouragement from the body of Christ, some feeling lonely because they are the only believers in their family, some were hurting and just needed to be reminded of the love Jesus, some were lost and in need of the hope that only comes from our savior Jesus, some in need of discipleship or spiritual wisdom. Seeing that every encounter was ordained by the Father blew me away by His love, intentionality, and His grace. God is so good.

I will touch on one more thing which was the homeless ministry in the streets of Antigua Guatemala. On Fridays we would take a team of volunteers from the US along with young Guatemalans to give out food and coffee to the homeless people. This time was beautiful as the Lord was providing for the physical needs of these people. We also got to sit and listen to their stories, get to know them and minister to their hearts. Sharing the hope of Jesus and seeing many encouraged and some coming to know Jesus as their savior. The Guatemalans are still invested in this on Fridays and will continue with these relationships. I’m excited to see the way the Lord will use this to bring more of His Kingdom here on earth.

So, that is just a little tiny glimpse of what the past few months of my life looked like serving with adventures in Missions. Thank you for being a part of what Jesus is doing in Guatemala, and making it possible for physical and spiritual needs to be met.
