The world race is a God given opportunity. This is a chance for me to meet people where they are. Meet people in the midst of their troubles and introduce them to joy. A joy that will last an eternity. As believers we have this thing that is life changing, it could put a smile on a kid that has never experienced joy before. This “thing” is a relationship with Jesus. Believers in America (I am speaking to myself) are often selfish. We have a relationship with the one person that can bring true joy to anyone’s life. Yet we keep Him to ourselves. We are afraid of a couple moments of awkwardness. When we compare these 5 seconds of “weirdness” to an eternity of hell, well we would all chose the 5 seconds right? The reality is when we do not sacrifice or humble ourselves for a couple of minutes to talk to someone about Jesus we are gambling with their eternity. The things that we will be doing in these countries like cleaning trash, building shelter and fences, and playing with kids will put a smile on these these beautiful souls for a little bit. There is only one thing that we can share with these people that is not temporary and that is Christ. Yes, we want to fill the physical needs that these people have but our main goal is to share the Lord with them so that they will experience true joy, true peace in knowing that even though they struggle everyday on earth there is a place that we will be united with God celebrating with Him for eternity.

So i’ve got a challenge for the both of us. Whatever season of life you are in whether you are a middle schooler, high schooler, college student, young adult, single parent, married, young, old, anyone and everyone this challenge is for you. The challenge is to start right now, wherever you are in life start sharing Jesus like it matters. Tomorrow is not promised, we have no time to waste, so let’s go, lets do. Pick up your Bible and read it today; pray about sharing the gospel because we can’t do it alone. Yes, it is awkward at first but when you pray the Lord will speak through you. Lay all of your worries down at the feet of Jesus, He has already overcome them all.

As we start this journey of sharing Jesus like it matters lets pray for each other and stand strong together like brothers and sisters should. My prayer for myself is that sharing the gospel will become an everyday thing. With that being said it will not happen without reading my Bible and surrendering every day to the Lord when I wake up. Will this be easy? No, but with Him we can do this.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Subscribe to be notified when I post next. I will writing about what the Lord is doing in my life before during and after the race. Lots of love! Anna H. 🙂
